About The Program

The Fall Education Congress unites K-12 public school leaders for a dynamic 2.5-day experience of networking, enriching district-led content sessions, and personalized meetings with solution providers. Under the theme “Rise Up! Reimagine! Building Resilience and Innovation in a Continually Evolving Educational Landscape,” this event empowers leaders to exchange insights, collaboratively address challenges, and forge a collective path towards educational excellence.

Topics Of Discussion

As schools grapple with budget cuts, the looming ESSER funding cliff adds to the challenge. ESSER (Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief) funds, provided during the pandemic, are set to expire, leaving a significant gap. Districts that relied on these funds for critical programs and staffing now face tough choices. With decreased budgets, schools must navigate reduced resources while striving to maintain educational quality and support for students. The transition requires strategic planning to mitigate impacts on teaching, learning, and overall school operations as they adapt to the funding shortfall and seek sustainable solutions.

Move beyond traditional accountability metrics. Discover methods for data-driven decision making that fosters continuous school improvement.

This roundtable discussion will focus on school leaders exchanging knowledge concerning the systemic barriers/issues that have infiltrated our educational system, fragmented our school communities, & have widened the chronic absenteeism gap. School leaders will exchange solution-based strategies for decreasing chronic absenteeism by eliminating systemic barriers within their educational environments, often directly connected to culture/climate transformations.

Join us for an informative and engaging roundtable on prioritizing student and staff mental health and wellbeing. In this roundtable, we will explore strategies for promoting mental wellness in educational settings, discuss the importance of creating a supportive environment for both students and staff, and share practical techniques for addressing mental health concerns. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions and gain valuable insights that can be applied in their own educational contexts. This roundtable is designed to provide you with the knowledge and tools needed to foster a positive and healthy school community.

In the keynote speech titled Employer of Choice: Attracting, Developing, and Retaining the Best Talent, Miami-Dade County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Jose L. Dotres will highlight the district’s comprehensive efforts to become an employer of choice by recruiting, growing, and retaining high-quality teachers, administrators, and other personnel in a time of an ever-changing competitive talent market and unexpected workforce trends. In addition to addressing the importance of culture building to retain employees at every level of the organization, the session will delve into human capital strategies, including establishing partnerships with local universities, developing leadership bench programs, and fostering internal talent growth.

Join us for an engaging roundtable session on “Closing Achievement Gaps for Post-Pandemic Success.” This session will delve into the critical challenges and opportunities in addressing educational disparities that have widened due to the pandemic. We will explore evidence-based strategies, innovative practices, and collaborative approaches to support student achievement and equity. Participants will have the opportunity to share insights, discuss best practices, and develop actionable plans to enhance student outcomes. Regardless of your specific role as a district leader, this session will offer valuable insights and tools to drive post-pandemic educational success.

Bridge the gap between equity aspirations and your strategic plan. This presentation explores how to seamlessly integrate equity into existing frameworks. Learn how to define equity goals that align with your strategic objectives, utilizing tools and systems that all leaders can agree on. Discover how this approach fosters a more equitable learning environment while ensuring success for all students within the established systems.

Catawba County Schools’ three-year AI initiative, funded by the North Carolina Digital Learning Initiative Impact Grant, aims to revolutionize K-12 education by leveraging AI to enhance teaching practices, empower students and educators, and prepare a generation ready to thrive in an ever-changing world.
